VC Technical Infrastructure

Sole engineer behind a 70-company VC fund's entire stack — data pipelines, BI dashboards, and automation that lets a lean team punch above its size.

Iterative

Context

As the sole engineer at Iterative, an early-stage VC fund with 70+ portfolio companies across Southeast Asia and South Asia, I was responsible for every technical system the fund runs on — from data infrastructure to internal operations. No platform team, no vendors to lean on: if the fund needed it, I designed it, built it, and kept it running.

What I Did

  • Data Infrastructure: Architected end-to-end data pipelines — extraction, transformation, warehousing, and BI dashboards for SLA tracking, deal flow analytics, and portfolio performance monitoring.
  • Operational Automation: Built Airtable extensions, n8n workflows, Slack integrations, and custom connectors that removed manual work from fund operations entirely.
  • Internal Tooling: Designed the systems the team runs on daily — from deal flow tracking to portfolio reporting — so a lean fund operates with the leverage of a much larger one.

Outcome

  • Full data infrastructure built from zero — SLA dashboards, portfolio analytics, deal flow tracking
  • Operational workflows automated across the fund
  • A lean investment team operating with the tooling of a fund several times its size
